Russ Melcher

"Peace doesn't sell"

Russell W. Melcher (born 1931) is an American photographer who was sent to Europe during the Korean War. He worked for various agencies and in 1966 became the European head of the legendary Magnum photo agency. In May 1972, Melcher left Magnum to become photo editor at two magazines of the Paris-based Matchgroup. Subsequently he worked for the Filipacchi Group as photo editor for several of its magazines. In the 1980s he retired to the south of France, where he still lives today.

All print have an edition of 12 + 2 AP, are an archival pigment print on baryt paper and are stamped on the back with photographer’s stamp, titled and inscribed with label, signed and edited on the front.
